When listing an outfit to rent, here's what you decide
-
Daily rental price
-
Refundable damage deposit: This helps cover any major issues if the outfit is damaged.
-
Postage costs (you only include the cost to post the outfit, the renter manages returning it)
-
Cleaning fee ( if you will handle the cleaning yourself)
Cleaning policy When listing an item for rental, please clearly state who is responsible for cleaning it. You can either:
- Add a cleaning fee on top of the daily rental price and handle the cleaning yourself once the outfit is returned, or
- Give the renter clear cleaning instructions in the listing, they will agree to this when requesting the rental period.
- Once a rental request comes in, you’ll be able to message the renter directly to confirm any details, and you also have the option to accept or decline the request.
Ship Your Outfit
Once someone buys or rents your outfit:
- You’ll get an email with their shipping details
- Package the outfit neatly
- Use a tracked delivery method like Royal Mail and post the outfit.
Add a note if you’d like, with return instructions or packing tips for rentals
📦 Posting Your Outfit
We recommend using Royal Mail tracked service for sending your outfit. You can buy a postage label online and either print it at home or have it printed at the post office.
Royal Mail also offers a click-and-collect service, they can pick up your parcel from your home and bring the label with them if you don’t have a printer.
For heavy outfits, we suggest using a Medium Parcel size:
- This can fit a heavy bridal lengha (up to 10kg)
- Tracked delivery starts at £7.10
Lighter items (e.g. sarees, suits) can be posted from £3.45 (Small Parcel)
- Check dimensions and pricing on the Royal Mail website to make sure your packaging fits.
Get It Back (Rentals Only)
Once the rental ends, the renter will post the outfit back to you using tracked delivery
When it arrives:
- Check that everything is in good condition
- If you’re in charge of cleaning, get it prepped for the next renter
- If the renter was meant to clean it, check it’s been done properly
If something’s missing, damaged, or returned late, let us know within 48 hours so we can help resolve it fairly!
Get Paid
Once you receive your item, don’t forget to mark your order as received, this confirms everything arrived safely and releases the payment to the seller or lender.
💡 Want to list more than one outfit? The more you add, the more likely your pieces get seen and booked.
